The bank can only act as any other creditor would when it comes to seizing your funds. They would have to get a judgement first. At that point it would be really easy for them to either garnish your wages or levy your account - they already know where you are.

Instead of worrying about them looking into your personal account (which they can monitor at any time if you are under any suspicion of fraudulent activity) you should be worrying about your reputation with your employer. Promotions and additional responsibilities including titles may be difficult for you to obtain because of your financial irresponsibility.

It is always a really bad idea to muddy the waters where you drink (I changed/cleaned that cliche up for the sake of this posting).

This post is not entirely accurate.
I am willing to wager that, in the various forms you have signed with your lender, you have agreed to let them offset any amounts due using any other accounts you have with them.

Are you sure about that Zigner? She definitely would have had to sign a stipulation stating that they could debit her account under those conditions. I know I certainly never signed anything like that under the terms of my employment.

I've known associates who work for the bank I work for that owe and have been placed in collections but the bank never advanced themselves the back payments.

It just seems to me that it could get very ugly legally if they just took funds without proper legal documentation.

In any case I think the bank has better things to do than to look her account to see why she isn't paying her bill.

Ever read the paperwork when you opened a checking or savings account at the bank? Nothing to do with employment or "signed stipulations" or anything else Wirelessany1 is trying to throw out there. It'll be there: right to offset. You agreed to it when you opened the account.

Oh, and banks typically take a dim view of employees who do not have a handle on their personal finances. I know my bank would have fired you (in addition to exercising their right to offset).

Wow you guys....I'm so sorry why didn't I get it??? I'm thick these days. Yes ShyCat and Zigner I get it now. Lots of things on my mind and I've didn't get exactly what the poster was saying when it was right in front of my face . Gee whiz and I call myself a banker. I am very familiar with the right to offset and I'm not sure why it went over my head the way it did.

OP please forgive my inaccurate piece of advice.
