Life after reporting to the Credit Bureau

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Texas

Our medical office has recently started reporting bad debts to the credit bureau. Once a debt is reported, do we need to cease any other form of collections such as small claims court or sending letters?

**A: no, reporting the debt has nothing to do with collection activity. Continue to take action to collect.

No, as long as you are following legal collection methods, you are still owed the money, and are still allowed to try to collect.

The only time you would have to stop is if you are informed of a bankruptcy stay.
