Loan to friend

What is the name of your state? Florida
An associate of mine came to me and asked for a short term loan. The amount was for $2000 over a period of two weeks, the repayment amount was $2200, at her suggestion. She assured me she would repay the loan, and gave me her grandmothers 3 carat diamond earrings as collateral. This was almost a month ago, have contacted her, and got little replay except for check in the post, for partial amount. Check has never arrived. Where do i go form here. Can I add daily interest to the amount owed ?

You take her to small claims court.

If you win a judgement against the defendent and she doesn't pay, then you will be allowed to tack on interest. (At the rate FL would allow.)

You bought an expensive ring... Sell it to recover your money -- but be nice give the person notice of your intent to do that.
