Louisiana debt and court orders

in 2005 my ex husband cleaned out the bank account and left me and my 10 month old baby. He left debt in my name that added up to about 50 to 60 thousand dollars worth of debt. I was able to get this debt down to about 20 thousand now. This debt is in credit cards but its ruining my credit for me and my baby. These bills wore court ordered to be paid by my ex husband which he never did. or the childsupport that he was court ordered to pay.
I am soon to be graduating nursing school, but everything i buy i have to pay with in cash. Like my car i had to pay 8000 cash to get a decent car for me and my son. Is it always going to be like this or is there any way to make right with the credit card collectors.. i would have paid them but i had to feed my baby first. when my ex husband left, i didnt have a job. he made me quit while i was married to him.
The judge said he was supposted to pay these credit card bills since he ran them up and i have the court order but he wont pay that or the bills. Im kinda scared to go take it to court cause he will try to take my son and he has went 2 yrs without paying anything or trying to see my son before then took me to court and i had to spend what was meant for my baby's christmas money on fighting him in court. then by gods grace was able to replace the money before christmas came. i kept sole custody, and he got supervised visitation by my consent. he paid a little in childsupport, now he waits 3 months and pays one month to stay out of jail. I want to be able to restore my credit so i can give my baby nice things, but im not sure how to do that the debt collection agencys are evil, they will call people i know and tell them they want to ligate me.

if anyone has any suggestions please reply

If the debt was also in your name, it doesn't matter that the judge in your divorce ordered him to pay. The creditors were not a party to your divorce, so you're still on the hook.

For child support, contact your parish prosecutor/district attorney and see if they can help garnish any wages he might get or any tax returns.

Since he currently has supervised visitation, that he isn't taking and hasn't seen the baby in quite some time, there is little chance that a court would give him custody.

I wish you luck and a successful nursing career!

thanks

Actually the biggest credit card was only in my name so i guess im really the only person on the hook for it anyway. the creditors didnt want to hear any of that. My ex husband is under supervised visitation, has been for over a yr. and i have had sole legal and physical custody since he left, so i cant complain much anyway. thanks for you advice
