medical bill in collection

mississippi, i have an account in collection with franklin collection agency the total debt is $520 when i contacted them to set up payments they said the minimum i could pay would be $105 per week for 5 weeks.theres no way i can afford this much i was hoping to get set up on $100-$150 per month.the bill is from an emergency room visit.is there a way for me to get this payment any lower?
i dont dispute the debt i have been talking with my insurance company because i thought they made a mistake and didnt pay enough on this bill.thats how it took so long and wound up in collection.

I don't know them so I can't tell you.

My grandpa told me never to turn down whiskey, women, or money.

Have you contacted the medical facility or provider? In most cases you can ask the medical facility or provider to remove you from collections. You would then setup a payment plan and never miss a payment. If your medical bill is a few months old you shouldn’t have a problem.

In cases where your insurance was researching or reviewing your claim for further payment, the insurance might be willing to call the medical facility or provider and explain the situation.

Most large medical practices are more then willing to receive monthly payments as long as money is being received.

Funny my grandma told me to stay away from two of those.

Is a CA going to refuse money? No. But don't expect them to stop collections without a formal payment arrangement in place.
