Mel Harris from MKM does not return phone calls

What is the name of your state? New York

My bank accounts have been frozen since September. I have hired a second lawyer trying to make a settlement with Mr. Harris and get my accounts unfrozen. He does not return phone calls or reply to any correspondence. What do you do in a case like this where you want to settle but can't. Can my accounts be frozen forever?

They can be frozen until such a time as the full amount of the judgment is satisfied. He is not obligated to return phone calls, or respond to letters, he does not have to accept anything other than the full amount that is due him.

Yes, but I will not send him any money unless I am assured I will received a satisfaction of judgment letter when a judgment does not even show up in theh first place anywhere . Plus, he is holding my unemployment checks and social security checks which are exempt. That is why my lawyer is trying to get in touch with him.

And that is why he isn't wasting any more of his time with you. He has you by the short curlies not the other way around. You need to understand that at this point you said he has a judgement. He's getting his money regardless of what you think you want to do.

The settlement at this point is pay every red cent you owe. I'd do it quickly the interest is adding up.

Secoondly, debt collector, the judgment, if there is any, (which the court doesnt have any records of) was filed in the wrong county where I dont even live.

For your information, my lawyer just called with good news. This collection agency is settling for 70% off of the amount I owed them. Great news for me!!! Now my accounts will be unfrozen. So Mr. Debt collector was wrong that they don't have to settle with me..
