Question

Need help by 3-15-05

What is the name of your state? NY

I have an old judgment I have been paying. The judgment amount was 2,227.44. I'm made a total in payments of 2,052.00. Legal fees added on are 445.00 and court fees are 282.00. The balance of 2,979.13 is interest. The law firm stated his client would settle for 1,932.44. I am not employed and do not have any assetts in my name. However I am married and my husband has his own business with assetts. When I took the loan he did not co-sign and when I defaulted he was not attached to the debt. I don't know how I can resolve this without them going after him. I don't know if the judge said they were able to attach interest. At the time this was a "question form" about income and property that went into a judgment. I never went to court. I was not working at the time then either. The law firm agreed I could pay 25 per month that was in 1995. I want to settle this but for a reasonable amount. I need help with my rights to a fair settle to this matter.
