Need help figure this outMassachusetts I have old medical bills from an accident that happend 7 years ago. There was a lawsuit brought against the hospital, and various others, and all the medical bills went to my lawyer. We lost the lawsuit. I was never contacted again by the bill collectors. MY Question is: on my credit report I have 2 judgements (1 each on 2 different credit report companies). They appear to be from the same people. One says "Satisfied Judgement", on the other one it says "Paid civil judgement". What does this mean? no one has ever asked for money, nor have I ever received anything from the court. Also- both are dated 2004. Is someone going to come knocking on my door one of these days? or has it gone away? |

| They mean the same thing. The judgment(s) have been recorded with the court as paid. Nobody will come knocking. I couldn’t tell you how or why. Unless the record shows case numbers and two distinct numbers, you’d have to look at the court file(s) or maybe even talk to the creditor(s) What isn’t clear from your post (and the reason for the plurals) is whether there was more than one lawsuit. If what you’re seeing is actually a duplicate record, you should take steps to get that corrected. As it stands, it appears there were two judgments against you. If that’s not true, the inadvertent duplication is hurting your credit profile more than is proper. |

| Hey, Chien, the way I read it, it looks like he pulled two bureaus and it lists one judgement on each. The each bureau he pulled shows different wording on what the result of the judgment was. |

| That could be. Sounds reasonable. Hope he reads your post. I've been working for about 38 hours straight. Analytical powers are sub-par; I think it's time to break. I just made a mistake in my own address and and telephone number. There was a time when I could do this and howl at the moon for another 24. Question everything I say until I rejuvenate. Question it then as well. (That doesn't apply to Skid and Breeze. I don't read those posts and will never know.) |
