NY Attorny Sueing me for CC.....need some advice

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Florida

Ok not sure what to do here, i have a NY attorny calling and harrassing my mothing in law for information about me. They wont tell her what it is about but she gave me their number and i called and talked to one of the attornies there and he informed me it was for a Citibank CC from 2000 or 2001.

Now not sure if this is bogus or not. I havent had a CC in my name alone in over 15 years. Any CC i have applied and gotten was with my wife and we have paid all those off or come to some sort of arrangement for paying them off. These guys dont know im married, have no info on me what so ever, but they have my mother in laws address....she has only lived where she is for 3 years.

Today they called her yet again and threatened to send the sherriff over to talk to her. Again not sure what to do here, any advice would be greatly appreciated

You need to get the address for this attorney and send a request for debt validation. Included in the validation, you need to include a limited cease and desist. Click on this link: http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/debt_validation.shtml
