Greetings,

Had one visit to a new doctor (specialist). He sent for my records and scheduled a follow up visit.
At the follow up visit, he told me he was unable to help me, and there would be no charge for the visit.
I paid cash for the first visit, no insurance. I sensed that having no insurance was a major factor for
him not wishing to keep me as a patient, as I was unable to pay for all of the hospital testing doctors require.

My issue is with being charged for the second visit, after the doctor said no charge. I asked the office if
they had even spoken with the doctor. They said no, and that a visit was a visit, and visits are charged.
I am waiting for them to send whatever papers I signed during my first visit, but isn't there a
services rendered" law? I was there for all of 5 minutes, drove an hour each way, when he could have simply
told me in a phone call he was unable to help me. Please advise?

Talk to the doctor so that he can tell his staff not to charge you.

You absolutely do need to get the doctor involved in resolving the dispute. I am also self pay and I have had to occasionally do that.

No, there isn't.

You walked in the door and you're on record with the "office administration" which automatically sends the visit to the billing office or service.

The doctor has no idea that you've been billed or even for how much. He's the one who will have to reverse it.
