Old Debt ?

What is the name of your state? Florida.

Hello, I have two different companies trying to collect a past debt that my folks paid off for me over twelve years ago and possibly over 15 years ago. They only keep records for 6 years and than shred or burn old records. I mean how many people keep all records for over ten years. My questions are 1. what is the statue of limitations in FLA for old debt collecting? (2) if this debt was not paid than WHY would it not show up in my credit rating and (3) do these two bill collectors who recently started calling me after 12 years have legal right to harras me and or can they attack my since perfect credit rating? PLEASE HELP AS THEY CALL EVERY DAY NOW. Thank you so much.
