Old DebtWhat is the name of your state? ILLINOIS Hi Back in 1991, I had a repossession, with a balance. This debt has since dropped from my credit report and about 4 years ago the creditor tried to collect again. I am asking is this beyond the statue of limitations? I recently received a collection notice from a collection agency who bought the account from the original creditor. My question is what is the statue of limitation in Illinois, Since this debt is close to 16 years old I do not have to respond to the collector or will this show up on my credit report again? Thanks |
