Old Debt

What is the name of your state? ILLINOIS
Hi
Back in 1991, I had a repossession, with a balance. This debt has since dropped from my credit report and about 4 years ago the creditor tried to collect again. I am asking is this beyond the statue of limitations? I recently received a collection notice from a collection agency who bought the account from the original creditor. My question is what is the statue of limitation in Illinois, Since this debt is close to 16 years old I do not have to respond to the collector or will this show up on my credit report again?

No it will not show up on your credit report again. Yes it outside the SOL. Pay it, ignore it -- the choice is yours.
