Old Debt/ Creditor of Record. What is the name of your state? Virginia I have a CA calling me about an MBNA credit card that is due to drop off my credit report in 2008. It's been years since I heard anything about it, and I was content to let sleeping dogs lie and take my lumps with horrible interest rates on my car, etc. I recently got a call from Triton Capital in New York about this account, and they've apparently bought it from MBNA and are looking to collect. This is fine with me, and we agreed to an amount I can afford contingent on them noting the account as "Paid as Agreed" on my CR and getting rid of the Collection. My question is: Since these people aren't listed on the trade line as the creditor, and have never even ran my report, are they just blowing smoke up my *** or am I missing something? |

| If I understand your question correctly, I think the CA is lying to you. If Triton bought the debt, then they can't make MBNA change how MBNA reports the tradeline. I have never seen a major bank like MBNA delete a negative tradeline. Triton can report their tradeline any way they want. If they agree to delete it for you, then they have the ability to do so. Just be sure you get all their commitments in writing. |

| "Paid "Collection Account Notation = Negative Information on a credit report. Did you send a request for validation? What have you done in writing on this matter so you have proper documention? |
