Old debt from a foreign country

What is the name of your state?Michigan

What happens if a Canadian bank is trying to collect from a US citizen. The debt is owed via and xhusband but was in my name.

If they're trying to collect from a US citizen then they must follow US laws -that means the FDCPA if it is a collection agency.
