What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia

I won a warrant in debt case against a California resident in Virginia court, less than two years ago. The person owes me $1200, plus 6% interest from the court date.

I haven't gotten anything from them since then. Can I turn this over to a collections agency somehow, or do I have to get the judgment recognized in California first?

Thanks,

jd
