Poor repair service, now putting a lien on equipment What is the name of your state? Nebraska
My brother is a farmer. He bought a refurbished piece of farm equipment (sprayer) from a dealer. Last winter it needed some work done and he took it back to the dealer for repair. It took several attempts to fix the problems - and they managed to cause some minor but new damage which my brother fixed (didn't re-attach something correctly). He told them from the start that he wasn't happy with the service or quality of repair -- he took it to them in December or January and finally told them he had to have it and got it back in April. He never heard back from them when he complained about the damage done. They have now put a lien against the equipment because of slow payment. He's since discovered that it should have had an "update" to part of the equipment and that had never been done. Should that have been the responsibility of the dealership at the time they refurbished it? He had no idea of the mandatory update since that is handled via dealers & owners and he wasn't an owner at the time. Is he SOL on that issue?
