possibly being suedWhat is the name of your state? TN My girlfriend is a singer/songwriter that will possibly be in a lawsuit disputing the terms of a contract with a record company. We want to get married soon. If we get married now and there is a judgement against her after we marry, will that affect me or cause me to be liable for anything since the contract took place before the marriage and the suit takes place after the marriage? Thanks, Jim Last edited by newlife5757; 05-17-2006 at 04:27 PM. |

| Ladynred is correct. However, her judgment will come up everytime you try to buy anything jointly, like furniture, house, car, etc. And though you will not be personally liable, that outstanding judgment will cause you to get credit denials and/or pay higher interest.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |
