Proof Of Debt

I have been getting letters from a collection agency trying to collect $8000 plus dollars on an MNBA America credit card. I have never had one from that institution. I sent a letter to the collection agency for proof that I indeed borrowed the money, They sent me back a form letter with my name on it and the account number of MNBA. They agreed to settle for 80% of the total. I sent another letter stating for them to send me a photocopy of the contract I signed with MNBA, that includes my signature, and until they can do that to stop sending me letters. Can I just do that?

Well, their "form letter" is certainly not sufficient proof...but, courts generally don't require a signed contract as proof either. Too many ways to get a CC without signing anything.
