Property Liens

What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I received a citation from the court to which I responded. The Attorney's office then forwarded me his demands for payment in lieu of having to go to court. I was then forwarded a letter from the courts stating a lien had been placed on my property.

This is joint property, and my spouse is not an authorized user for the account in question. At the time, his national guard unit was deployed on active duty in support of Iraqi Freedom. To date, he is still overseas.

Was the lien on the property legal or should it have been put on hold until his return to the states?
