undefinedWhat is the name of your state? Texas
Providian sold my account that was charged off over 3 years ago and now the new owners are trying to collect on the old debt. What are my rights and how do I make them stop calling and threatening me?

You make it sound like something illegal was done but it is legal. You can send the creditor a cease and desist letter but that will most likely accelerate the process of you being sued for the debt. The best option is to pay the debt now before any more interest or legal fees are added.
