question about collection by law firm agency

What is the name of your state? mo
I got my car repo'd several months ago and have recieved a letter from a law firm, ******, Leigh, Laws and Fritzlen in kansas city mo. I owe 8235.08 plus attorney fees and interest. I would like to know what you think my chances are of taking me to court and garnishing my wages over this are. I plan on making payments of 50.00 a month or a little more until the debt is payed off. If I make these payments can they still take me to court? Thank you

Excellent -- in fact I'd plan on it.

Making payments of $50 per month will get you sued. You might want to think about bringing an offer of $700 a month to the table if you want to avoid being sued and facing all the other nasty little thing that come with it.

Yep. They are a well known law firm.

Of course, we can't guess what someone else might do, but I would say the chances are fairly likely of a lawsuit. And if filed, pretty much 99% for them getting a judgment. And with the judgment, probably 95% or better of wage garnishment.
Yep, doesn't look good.

Good for you. That will take about FOURTEEN YEARS to pay off just the principal.... not counting the interest that will continue to accrue.

You betcha'. The 'old wives tale' of "making payments, can't sue" is just that.... a TALE. Not true at all.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!
