a quick question?

What is the name of your state?ME

i have a few accounts ranging from 1300-1500 in collection agencies. My question is do they have a right to contact my family members who dont even live in the same house? Creditors interchange for example somehow got ahold of my brothers home number which is private and contacted him asking a bunch of questions about me and told him about my account. Do they have that right to 1. contact my family? 2. discuss my personal business? any help would be greatly appreciated.
