Is This Really a Charge-Off?

What is the name of your state?
I was in AK at the time this happened Now I live in WY

OK here is my situation. I am in the Air Force. On base we have an enlisted club and they offer a "club card" you have two option on the card. One version is a MasterCard that can be used anywhere. The second is a card with no MasterCard logo and can only be used at the "Air Force Club" (I got this one) both cards are managed/issued by Chase Bank. Well I had a balance of 280... it was Christmas so I went 30 days late. On the next due date I went to pay it on base but the "cash cage" but it was closed. So I went back a day or two later and paid 60 dollars of it. Well this put me at 60 days late.

Because I hit the 60 days late, my card was cancelled (I know, not smart). The Air Force and Chase Bank had a deal were if a card was cancelled the Air Force would pay the debt and the airman would just pay the base.

Well in a few weeks I got the letter saying I owed 280 and my card was cancelled and to pay in full now. I did. I went and paid the full 280.

Well now its showing as a "Charge-off" paid on my credit report... I spent hours with the base and Chase about this and they say there is nothing they can do because it was a charge off. Yes I was 60 days late, but I paid the full balance two weeks later when I got the letter.

Is this true, is it really a chargeoff or is there anything I can do to get this removed from my credit reports?

Thanks

Wait six months and dispute the tradeline with the credit bureaus.

I am sorry but what is a tradeline? BTW this originally happened in 2004 I disputed it in 2005 or early 2006.

Since the debt is paid, the CA has no motivation to continue paying someone to respond to the credit bureau's query. The odds are that the CA will not respond to the CRA in a timely fashion resulting in the offending item being removed from your credit report.
