| | | Rental Lease renewal??? What is the name of your state?Ohio I live in an apartment with someone. On the lease I use his last name, but it is not my real last name, but I gave them my social security number 5 years ago when they found out I had been living un his apatment, I had no job, money, etc. and if I didnt say I was his wife they would have thrown me out. A week later they said I could stay, that I passed their credit check?? I dont know if they ever realy did one. My question is if he were to die, but I am on the lease that way, can they then tro me out, I do not have the income to qualify as One fourth of the my gross monthly income to occupy apartment. I now get $1,015.00 a month social security check, but it would not come to the one fourt they want? Would they just let me keep staying here?
The rent is $580.00 a month. They have smaller one bedrooms for $460 month I would like to move from the 2 bedroom to a one bedroom if he should die, I have no where else to go and no fmily. I am under the lease, but on it in a weird way |

| | | If you are on the lease, then you can stay there until that lease expires. HOW they put you there doesn't mean much, it's the fact that you ARE on it that matters.

| | | Want to continue staying here I am on the lease and have been for 4 or 5 years, I just want to be able to renew each year coming up because I cant afford to go any where else. I was just worried if when it has to be renewed sometime and the person I am with is no longer around if I cant continue staying just the way it is, but with my name. I dont think I could pass a new income test, I would fall short by at least $25 or more. I would like to transfer then from a 2 bedroom at $585 to a one bedroon at $450 With $1000 a month s.s. check I could afford that I think. There are no other cheaper rents available anywhere in the newspaper. |

| | | Whether or not you will be allowed to renew the EXISTING lease on your own depends on your landlord. If you can get a lease on a cheaper apt on your own income, then you'll have to sign a new lease anyway.
