Repossession Legal?

I originally posted this in a different forum, but got no responses. Perhaps this is the better forum for my question.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

I've been paying on my car for 3 years now and was never late until recently because I lost my job. I got a new job and had the money to make my car payment, but the finance company refuses to take it and has repossessed my car. Don't I have the right to make the overdue payment and get back my car?

Probably too late. You will probably have to pay off the entire balance if you want the car back now.

Maryland allows consumers 15 days to get caught up after a repossession. Paying the entire balance is not necessary. If you can get caught up in that 15 day window, then the car must be returned. You should have gotten a notice outlining those rights.
