Depends on what you mean by "date it". Credit reports have several dates.

Take an example. The account was opened in 8/97, your last payment was 2/01. Here is how it should report today:

DTE OPN (date opened) 8/97
DLA (date of last activity) 2/01
DTE RPT (date reported) 8/05

If the 6/05 you are looking at is the date reported -- all that means is that was the most recent report to the credit bureau on this particular debt.

If the 6/05 is something else, then it is reported in error and you should dispute the error.

looks to me like the date opened is wrong -- you can dispute the entry to the 3 credit bureaus.

If the CA verifies the debt, then you have the option to sue the CA for violation of the FCRA. No big deal to sue them yourself if you are willing to put in some sweat in learing how to write the complaint.

I assume you have some proof of the original debt. Hang on to it as you might need it later. If you sue, the burden of proof is on you. Words won't cut it. You need paperwork to prove the reporting error.

Is There Any Chance That The Bbb Might Be Able To Help Me With This Problem? Everytime I Call The Collection Agency They Give Me Another Contact Number. Like I Said Prviously I Belive That The Collection Agency Is An Internal Deptpartment Of Directv. Maybe You Are Fimiliar With Them. On My Credit Report They Are Listed As Rskmgtnana4

Risk Management is a 3rd party collection agency. They are not a division of Direct TV

BBB is worthless.

You need to dispute the debt as I described to you. You can find samples of a dispute letter at www.creditinfocenter.com/forms
