Hello,

Approximately 4 years ago I won a small claims case. The judgement won, including interest that has accrued to date set at MI's statutory interest rate, amounts to right around $1500.

Until recently, the defendent was unable to pay on the judgement. We have been in contact and have set up a payment schedule. Unfortunately, the defendent has not carried through on this schedule.

I am currently looking into garnishment and other such options, but I have also been considering cutting my losses and attmepting to sell the debt owed to me. I have already spoken with my attorneys in MI and they inform me that it would be perfectly legal to sell the amount of my judgement to a collection agency, attorney's office dealing in collections, etc., though I would obviously not receive the full amount owed to me if I were to do so.

The problem I have at the moment is finding out who I would contact in order to sell this debt I own. My attorneys were unable to suggest any firms/agencies in particular. I've searched the Web, but am having difficulty finding what I'm after.

What do I do to seek out those who might be interested in buying my debt and how would I go about approaching them?
