salesman forget my ID to make the sale

What is the name of your state?In 2002 after I had a life threatening accident and sustained major brain injuries, I was coerced by my ex-girlfriend into co-signing for her mother’s car. In June I received a call from her mother saying that they can’t make payments and threaten if I didn’t take over the payments for them they will let the collector take the car. I also found out that the transaction was done illegally without my knowledge the salesman forget my ID to appear as a driver license and proceeded with the sale — I didn’t have a valid driver license at a time, I was young and stupid and had a DWI, so my license was taken away. Is that considered a bridge of contract? Am I still responsible for paying for that car? What are my options, I believe that car has been repossessed however in my credit report shows as a collection account. This happened in Goldsboro, now I live in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

I don't know what the ID has to do with anything. Perhaps, there could have been misrepresentation on the part of the salesman but the damaged party would be the lender -- not you.

If you signed the note -- even if "coerced by a girlfriend" -- you are responsible to the lender.
