Question

Settlement Amount and Letter Wording

What is the name of your state?What is the name of your state? TN

I received a letter from a collection agency for a credit card that I have never paid and want to settle. The total of the debt is $5672.78. I have two questions:

1) What percentage of the total should I try to begin the settlement process with? Of course I want to settle for the least amount possible.

2) Could someone please provide me with a sample settlement letter? I want to be sure to word it correctly.

I guess that's it. Thanks for your help!
