SOL questionWhat is the name of your state? IL OK, a new twist to my SOL here in Illinois. If I have a debt that was incurred in Michigan, while i resided in Illinois, (I actually was on vacation in Michigan when I took on this debt) which SOL would apply? Could they sue me in Michigan? Or would they have to sue me in Illinois? If Illinois, would the 5 yr SOL apply? or would the 6 yr Michigan SOL apply? Just wondering which SOL I am faced with. Thanks |

| Per the FDCPA they can sue you either where the agreement was entered into, or where you live NOW. Most of the time they'll sue you where you live so the IL SOL would be applicable.

| If they sued you in MI, they would still have to have you served. If they know where you are in IL, they could have you served in IL.
