SOL and renewal? What is the name of your state? Ca I received a collection letter from an agency often mentioned here for an open account debt dating from prior to 1994. I called the agency to ask what it was about and was a bit chatty with him, and frankly, do not recall whether I ever said the debt was valid at the time of delinquency or not. I understand that this debt is far beyond the SOL -- but I have read caveat's about talking on the phone and saying anything to collection agencies about their claims. Can such conversations be used to "restart" the clock on the SOL, say, if they are recorded? thanks. chryder |

Thanks to LadynredMany, many thanks to Ladynred for the answer to my question on renewal -- and for much more of the information you have provided here, which has not only allayed a lot of stress, but provided a really useful short course on this entire subject area. |
