It depends, what kind of contractual obligation does the "friend" have to repay the loan?

friend loan

Well this person was not a close friend more of a friend of a friend that I would occassionally socialize with and his friend had made a loan with me and told this guy then this one hit me up as well. He wrote on a general receipt pad he borrowed $2000 from me and signed and dated it. HE paid me back $200 a week for the first 5 weeks then $100 a week for the next 4 weeks. For a total of $1400 paid off the loan. He moved out of state and I could not find him until now. Now I signed off on those payments to him and notated them in a personal notebook of when he made payments for my own records. So will I have an issue collecting he is denying the debt once I found contacted him and sent a copy of the original signed agreement from close to 4 years ago with a letter stating I am willing to take a payment arrangement trying to collect the remainder in good faith measures. To top it off he is a collector for a major credit card company

For $600, file in small claims court where he lives.
