If i have two debtors/collection agencies trying to get me to pay on debt that is from 8-10 yrs ago and I have made no payments in those ten years due to no notification of a outstanding debt owed to them, and the statue of limitations has expired on both, do i need to pay them. From what I understand I don't, but do need to write a letter to the agencies informing them to discontinue any collection attemps eithor by phone or mail or email, that I know the statue of limitations has expired and that I am aware of the expired statute of limitations defense and will use it in court.
