statute of limitations

What is the name of your state? Maryland

I have been looking but can't find the statute of limitations for the state of maryland for written contracts , open accounts and the like. Could someone tell me what they are or atleast a website where they are clearly written ...i cant seem to find one , but im new at this so I may just be looking in the wrong places.

also , what would I do if a credit card I use to have says open on my credit report but I closed the account and dont have it anymore ( over two years ago) and it still says open, and they are still reporting it? Can I have it taken off , and how do I do it ?

and dh had old things on his report that are paid off but almost 7 years old , how long will they stay on the credit report and can I have them taken off now ?

thank you....

For SOL on accounts see http://www.creditinfocenter.com/rebuild/statuteLimitations.shtml
I did some spot-checking on different websites and for MD all seemed to have consistent information.

For your other questions I suggest you post them on www.creditboards.com.

In general, Equifax likes to list "closed by consumer" accounts as "open" if there's any unpaid balance.

Thank you... I will look on the sites recomended. I probably did see it , but am so confussed I didn't understand it...My eyes are crossing from all the reading

As for the "open" account , they are on all three credit reports and I dont owe any balance and it never went to collections. It just simply looks like I still have the account open and I dont.

I am just starting to try to handle these messes...I guess it will be a long road
