Iowa Statutes of Limitation

Open account: 5 years from last charge, payment, or admission of debt in writing. Unwritten contracts: 5 years from breach.

Written contracts: 10 years from breach.

Demand note: 10 years from date of note.

Judgments: 20 years. However, an action brought on a judgment after nine years but not more than ten years can be brought to renew the judgment.

NOTE: Deficiency judgments on most residential foreclosures, and judgments on mortgage notes become essentially worthless two years from date of judgment.

Rather than just cut-n-paste information from the internet (which ANYONE can do, even stupid idiots like the 'WNBama'... who provided for the WRONG state!!!)..... the ANSWER to your question is....
The SOL in INDIANA for a claim like this is SIX years.

IC 34-11-2-7
Six year limitation
The following actions must be commenced within six (6) years after the cause of action accrues:

(1) Actions on accounts and contracts not in writing.
(2) Actions for use, rents, and profits of real property.
(3) Actions for injuries to property other than personal property, damages for detention of personal property and for recovering possession of personal property.
(4) Actions for relief against frauds.

Bottom line..... If the breach happened on 7/23/1999 as you claim, and if there were no actions to toll the SOL, their right to pursue legal recovery expired on 7/22/2005.
