stauate (sp?) of limitations

What is the name of your state?ma
what is the stuate of limititations on an old credit card bill? If it is gone seven years and suddenly shows up on your credit report? They also wrote that I made a one dollar payment this year. I assume to reinstate the old bill. Furthermore I never had an account with that bank. But can a collection agency do that? Put down you paid a dollar in order to keep it up to date?

In Mass, it is 6 years.

And did you???

But is that 'bank' the current OWNER of the debt??

They can (as they obviously claim that they did). However, if you didn't make any payment and their claim is solely to 're-age' the debt.... their actions are illegal.

Send them a 'cease and desist' letter (certified RRR).
Also, send the reporting agency a request to investigate (again, certified RRR).

Why has he spent over $1.7M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

thanks. I will do that.

I am trying to get more info on it and it looks like its something from the later nineties but no details. It does state I made a one dollar payment in January which I did not.
I have requested investigations into it.
Assuming it is an old debt though, can it still be on my credit report - meaning as an active account? I really do think they did that 'payone of one dollar' to activate it.

If you allow their claim of your 'refreshing' the account, yes.
