FLORIDA What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

My employer received a garnishment letter from a collection agency. My student loans are in default. How can my wages be garnished without a court order? How can I or what can I do to make sure my pay is not garnished?

Why do you think that your pay was garnished without a court order (or a judgment against you)? Get a cop of the "garnishment letter" from your employer. Then you will know more about how and why your pay was garnished. It is possible that your wages were garnished without a judgment against you.
