Summons with no summons number.

What is the name of your state? WA

Last night at home I received a envelope and was told it was a summons. Opened it this morning and it appears to be a summons from Suttel & Associates of Mercer Island, WA and Asset Acceptance is the plaintiff. It appears to be from an old credit card account, but the document does not say from who. The document has no summons number and appears to be dated September 6, 2006. How legal is a summons that has no summons numbers and was dated allmost 5 months ago. Thank you.

The summons should have a court listed where you are to send your answer. Contact that court and see if it is a legitimate summons or if the CA sent it as a threat. A legitimate summons will have a case number, it is usually written in a stamp that says "FILED" on the top of the summons.
