They repoed my pal's PAID OFF car!

The following occurred in the state of Washington, in the King/Snohomish County area:

My pal isn't super internet savvy like I am, so I'm the one writing this post, sorry. So, my friend owned a car. A Saturn, to be specific. She made a payment on her car last month and they told her that the car was paid off and settled. Great! Well, she was a couple of days late on the last couple of payments and what they didn't tell her, was that apparently, she had some late fees. In fact, they told her she didn't owe them anything.

Now, they've come and taken her car without any sort of notice. No phone call, no notice, nothing. They're also claiming (lying) that they DID tell her about these fees and that they'd repo the car if she didn't pay them. She easily has money for the fees but they won't let her pay them and get her car back. This is a scam, plain and simple. They tricked her so that they could steal her car after she paid it off! This is robbery! There has to be SOMETHING we can do. Help please!

When she signed the loan, the late payment charges would have been identified. She had to have known that there would be additional charges and her loan wasn't "paid off". Pay off the remaining charges quickly, and now also the tow charges, and pick up the car. Do it quickly before they auction off the vehicle to recover the interest and late fees that she owes. Walk in with cash (and get receipts), no checks that are going to bounce.

Nobody wants the car, they just want their cash that is owed to them.
