Time crunch for an answer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL

Hi....I just found this website and hopefully someone can answer my question quickly. I have about an hour before I promised a debt collection agency I would call them back.

I am negotiating a payment plan to pay off my delinquient credit card. By the way my previous phone call went, it would be paid off over a matter of 8 months or so.

My question.....Is the total amount for payoff they give me the actual payoff or am I going to be charged monthly interest or charges on the unpaid portion?? Hope that makes sense what I'm asking.

Thanks for any advise.

1) Ask them.
2) Consider yourself lucky if they accept a plan like that (you've already shown that you don't honor your agreements)

Thanks for the comment and lack of advice/opinion or what ever you want to call it.

My cards delinquent. I haven't been able to make the minimum payments for months from going down to a single income family from a double income due to major medical issues.

When I have to decide if I'm going to pay my mortgage and feed my kids over paying a credit card....I'll pick the first one every time.

It's my debt...my responsibility...I'm not denying that. I now have the means to start payinf off my debt and was looking for sound advice to my question.

Thanks again.

Ask THEM.
What more do you want? How could any of US be privy to your agreement?
