Question

Tom B

What is the name of your state? California
I have received a summons from to appear in superior court for a disputed ($800.00) debt of over 2 years, which I have disputed. The dept is from an anesthesia proceedure associtated with a broken leg. I paid the full co-payment and deductible required by my insurance, but the anesthesia dr. doesn't accept the payment as full. They have through a collection agency summoned me to superior court. what should I do? help

My response:

Did you read, and understand, your EOB (Explanation of Benefits) when it came to you in the mail from your insurance company?

Probably not.

You have 30 days to answer, or otherwise respond to, the Complaint.

Hop to it.

If the anesthesiologist doesn't participate with your insurance, you're probably going to have to pay it. Not that uncommon.
