Question

Took $ out of my bank account

What is the name of your state? IL

In the fall of 2002, a few months after my father had passed away, Ford Motor Credit took more than what I had in the bank out of my account -- literally bleeding me dry and unable to have the bank account.

I went to court and through tears I could hardly speak but was able to tell them the money that was in my account was for my fathers burial. The court decided to make them put the money back in my account [only what I literally had - not the excess they added to it -just so you know I wasn't expecting anymore than that but wanted to make that clear --the amount] and they ceased action against me, however it sits on my credit report as a judgement.

The car was totalled with me in it in 2001 - the driver of the other car that was at fault --her insurance took possession of the car and I was told they paid Ford Motor Credit for the car. In a sense this is no longer a debt [I would think] if Ford Motor Credit has been paid.

How do I get the judgement off of my credit report? I originally filed a Chapter 13 in 1995 but by 1997 it was dismissed by the court because I was no longer working and able to make the monthly payments -- unfortunately the only debt that got paid was the lawyer and maybe a small debt.

Should I contact the insurance agency to get information about how they took possession of the car and send that to someone to get the judgement off my report?

I feel stuck !!!

Q: How do I get the judgement off of my credit report?

A: Ask the creditors to give you a satisfaciton of judgment, then file it with the court where they got a judgment against you.
