Trying to collect from customer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Not sure if this should be under business law.

Earlier this summer I submitted old invoices to a customer up to nearly 3 years old. After I inquire about the status of processing my invoices they stated that their lawyer has informed them that the SOL on our oral contract was 2 years and thus, older invoices would probably not be paid.

However, the previous invoice I sent to them (also sent even earlier this summer) before they consulted with their lawyer on this set of invoices was from autumn of 2006 and they paid it. Does this "reset" the SOL for 2006 invoices?
