I have payday loans, closed my bank account, in the process of setting up payment arrangments for the legal ones, trying to negoiate a sttlement for the non-legal ones.
All advice has been to send the loan companies notices that I am revoking any wage assignments that I may have signed. procedure is to send to my payroll department also.

Called payroll, they told me that once I defaulted on the loans, they can get their money from payroll from the wage assigments, that it is too late to revoke.

Now, several debt consolidators and people have told me wage assignments can be revoked at any time, garnishments must be court ordered.

Is this true? Does it vary by state? I have tried to look up the laws, but can't seem to find any definitive answers. I just want to know how to proceed. I'm not ignoring the debt, just trying to survive while doing it!

Thanks for any advice in advance!!
