wage garnish in FL

What is the name of your state? FLorida

Does anyone know the law for wage garnishment in Florida? My significant other received papers from the Sheriff's office the other day about a past due credit card bill and of course, they gave us 20 days to file, which is like 5 days before Christmas. We don't have enough money for a lawyer to file bankruptcy and if we did have the money I would rather just pay them. Also, we have a joint bank account, so with it being in both our names, can they still take all the money from it?

There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) pending in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Unhappy

sv459...thank you for the information. I had a credit report printed out this morning and this particular debt has been "handed off" several times, with the balance growing each time. The original debt was 3679.00 and the lawyer is asking for 5918.00. I've made an appt. with an attorney for dec 12th and am hoping to get more information then. I'm so paranoid of them cleaning out our bank account that I cashed my paychecks today instead of depositing so I could pay our rent. My name is not on this particular debt, only my mate's, but since we share bank account I don't want to take any chances,ya know?
