Wanting Help

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina.
Hello,I really need someunderstandind and advice on what to do in this situation. O,K In 2005 I casked a check at an check cashing center that was bad. I went to court for it was placed on probation and later violated that probation and went to serve my time for cashing the bad check. Now I work and stupidly went back to thge same check cashing to cash my work check and the took my hole check saying that I owed them money. What I want to know is was that legal for them to do that after ive served my time and is there any statue for that by me serving my time for cashing the bad check and could they just take all of my money with out any notice when I have other bills to pay?

You may have served your time, but you still owed them money. Why didn't you ever pay them back?

This seems a little sticky to me, but you handed them money, and you owed them money, what were they supposed to do?

what on God's earth would make you go back to the same check cashing place when you know you owe them money? or how about this ingenious idea, ever consider opening up a bank account?

(I'm thinking just maybe OP's credit is bad enough to make it virtually impossible to get a checking account....even with the local CU)

No they cannot. Unless, they have a court ordered garnishment. Then its a percentage of your weekly pay not the whole thing. File a police report.
