What to do when your payments to a collection agency never make it to the creditor?

What is the name of your state? Ohio

I made payments to Go More Collection Agency for years for an account because my ex filed bankruptcy and Chase would not let me make payments. Now it turns out, Go More got their license revoked (they were comingling funds among other things) and Chase has no record of half my payments. They never even felt the need to notify me about the agency to make sure they had all of my payments. I have filed a complaint with the Comptroller of Currency but they just referred my case to Chase who still won't address the issue. From what a collector told me, this affects a lot of people. Anyone know any other options?

Check the current owner of the debt

You need to verify that Chase still OWNS the debt that GoMore is collecting. If the debt is old, chase could have SOLD the debt to GoMore which means Chase does not get any money from it, but instead all the profits go to GoMore.

If chase still owns the debt, and GoMore had an agreement to collect for them and is not paying them, GoMore is scamming Chase. This should be a contractual matter between GoMore and Chase. If Chase comes after you in court, you have a defense here.

If GoMore on the other hand did not have an agreement with chase, and coerced you in paying them anyway, you have been a victim of a scam, and you might be able to sue them for FDCPA and racketeering violations.

And of course.... ALL of that depends entirely on the OP's ability to PROVE that payments were made to GoMore.
OP - What documentation (receipts, etc.) do you have to PROVE your payments were made to GoMore to be applied to Chase??

Why has he spent over $1.7M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

After Go More lost their license, it took Chase 8 months to tell me that they had the debt back. Since I filed my complaint with the Comptroller, someone from Chase called to ask what I had paid Go More. I didn't have the exact amount with me at the time. She gave me the figure that they had which was off about $3,000. I called her back and left a message what the total was and told her I have all of my bank statements showing the withdrawls by Go More. They just sent a statement and included their amount. I have asked several times for some kind of statement showing the payments and how the interest accrued...their interest amount of course does not match the last statement from Go More. They are considering the matter closed and are sending a 1099 which is a ridiculous amount.

You may need to consult an attorney. You should not be 1099ed for a matter that was not your fault.
