Cool

What does it mean "This account is scheduled to continue on record until Sep 2008"

So I checked my credit report and noticed that the status detail of my collection account says: "This account is scheduled to continue on record until Sep 2008"

It was a malpractice case which started in 2002 in NY state. After 5 years of dispute, the jury reached a verdict on my favor in 2007. The money that I owned the hospital (~$7000) during this 5 years had gone to a collection agency which reported the dept to the credit agencies.

1. What does it mean when I see "This account is scheduled to continue on record until Sep 2008" on my credit report?
2. Will I still owe money to the collection agency even though the dept is removed from the credit agencies?
3. Should I be paying the collection agency since my case was settled on my favor from a jury and judge?

Thanks for reading. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated.

That is how long it will be on your credit report. After that date, it will no longer by on the report.

2. Will I still owe money to the collection agency even though the dept is removed from the credit agencies?

Yes.

3. Should I be paying the collection agency since my case was settled on my favor from a jury and judge?

I don't know. What did the court ruling say? Usually, any ruling will describe what party owes money and how much -- sometimes each party owes money to the other. This would be a good question for your attorney.
