Is this validation letter real? and why would the CA need to talk to...

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NY

I received a letter from OSI today that supposedly validates a loan I received from Access Group 1.5 years ago. It doesn't show whether OSI bought the loan or is just servicing the loan. Should this be there?

Also, there is a print out that shows the lender "KY Higher Ed Student Loan Corp" attempted to file an insurance claim, but there's no signature under "signature of officer." Should it be there?

Maybe I am being to picky. But it also bothers me that OSI has been trying to collect on this loan since 9/04 (per them) but their NYS Dept of Consumer Affairs License wasn't issued until 1/13/05. Probably a moot point now.

What I really want to know is is there any way I can pay the original creditor as opposed to OSI? If so, would that be the lender (KY Higher Ed) or the guarantee agency (Access Group)?

When I spoke with OSI about making payments she said she needs to know my income and expenditures in order to take the information back to Access group to let them know I can't pay in full, but am willing to make monthly payments of XYZ. Is this right--the CA needs to confer with the Guarantor before accepting payments?

Please help
fynesse

Of note, I spoke with Access Group previously and he said the loan was sold to OSI and they no longer owned it!!! In the validation letter, OSI mentions Access Group as their client. Am i missing something?
