What Type of Attorney do we need? What is the name of your state? TN What type of attorney do we need to represent us to try to gain cooperation from a billing service? My husband went to truck driving school and signed a contract to repay the tuition with the aid of the company that hired him upon graduation. To make a long story short, he didn't earn enough to pay the debt and sustain our family and he left the company. We have continued to pay them, although not the $216 monthly they require. Each month they charge us a $30 late fee, and over $200 in interest. Needless to say that depite already paying them almost $3000, we owe as much today as we did then. We have written letters, made phone calls, but the billing services will not put us in touch with anyone of authority, nor are our letters answered. They have given us a bad rating on our credit report which is keeping us from buying or renting a home. We're virtual prisoners as a result of lies that we told and promised that went unfulfilled. Thank you for your help. |

| A debtor/creditor attorney should be able to help you. But these collection agencies rarely change their minds.

| They can sue you. If they win, they will go after your assets (wages, whatever).
